The Cape Animal Fertility Clinic is run by a small and skilled team. We stay on top of the latest advances in animal fertility and above all, remember that all animals and their humans need to be treated with loving care.
Dr Rachel Shuttleworth
Veterinarian: BSc, BVSc, MMedVet (gyn)
Dr Shuttleworth graduated as a veterinarian at the University of Pretoria in 1996 and then went on to specialize in animal reproduction under the mentorship of Prof Johann Nothling from 1997-2001. For the following 3 years she had a practice in Johannesburg specializing in horse and dog reproduction. Thereafter, she moved with her family to Stellenbosch in the beautiful Cape. She has been running her practice, Cape Animal Fertility Clinic since 2003.
Dr Nadine Apteker
Veterinarian: DVM PhD, Dipl. ECAR University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna.
The Cape Animal Fertility Clinic is excited to have someone with the calibre of Dr Apteker on board. Her expertise, passion and enthusiasm makes her a pleasure to work with. She is experienced in equine and small animal reproduction and also has a passion for animal welfare, and involves herself on a regular basis with sterilization and other welfare efforts.
Dr Lesleigh Rous
Veterinarian: BVSc
We are privileged to have Dr Lesleigh Rous supporting us with some after-hours caesarians. She is the general veterinarian at our sister clinic, Cape Companions Veterinary Clinic
Emmie
Reception and veterinarian assistant
Emmie is our right hand lady at the clinic. Her calm, compassionate nature is a great asset to the clinic.
Jo-Marie
After-hours assistant
Jo-Marie is a dedicated animal-lover. She is one of the after-hours assistants.
